Cooling Off in 100°F Weather

Suki lives in Southern California, where temperatures outside reach 100+ degrees on a daily basis from June - October. We don't have the greatest air conditioner in our apartment, and so it also gets pretty hot inside too. We had to get creative to find a way for her to stay cool.

I found the best way to keep the Suk cool is to spray her with a cool mist of water (IKEA has really cheap water bottles), and then brush her where I just sprayed. After I'm done, she proceeds to clean herself, so in addition to the cool mist, her saliva also cools her fur down.

The only downside to this method... is that the water bottle will no longer be seen as a punishment. When Suki sees the water bottle now, she rolls over onto her back and basically begs for it.

Rolling Around

In this video, Suki follows my camera as she rolls from one side to the next on her back. She always lays like this in the morning, with her belly up. It is so cute! Leave a comment below if you agree!

Whisker City Ceramic Bowls

Aren't these Whisker City ceramic cat bowls adorable! They also wash really easily, which is extremely important to me because I don't have a dishwasher.

I use these bowls only for Suki's wet food. We have larger gallon jugs for water and dry food. I have two of these ceramic bowls so that there is always a clean one ready. The remains of wet food get crusty and gross after a day, so I switch up the bowl often.

These ceramic bowls are from Petsmart, although they were purchased a while ago so i can't guarantee that they still carry them. They are dark navy blue and feature lighter colored Siamese cats on them.

Blue Buffalo Kitty Yums Savory Salmon Cat Treats Review

One of Suki's absolute favorite cat treats is BLUE Buffalo Kitty Yums Savory Salmon. They are healthy, delicious, and available at a majority of major Pet Stores. We are holding a giveaway of these treats too! For details, click our giveaway tab.

Note: Blue Buffalo is not paying me to blog this, I like their philosophy & Suki loves eating these treats.

The first ingredient in Kitty Yums Savory Salmon is actual salmon, followed by other delicious things like brown rice, fish oil, and rosemary. They have a softish texture, and are easy for cats and kittens to chew. Sometimes I break up the treats into a few smaller pieces for the Suk and hide them around where she is hanging out so that it is more fun for her.

The greatest thing about these cat treats, as well as all BLUE Buffalo products, is that they contain no chicken or poultry by-product meals, no artificial preservatives, and no corn, wheat, or soy. (SourceThese treats come in a variety of flavors and all contain nutritional and safe ingredients that promote a long as-cancer-free-as-possible lifespan of your cat.

We are giving away 5 bags of these treats to 5 of our first 500 subscribers on Youtube! See the giveaway tab for details.

Disclaimer: If you leave this bag out where your cat can get at it, he/she WILL rip a hole in it and help themselves! The Suk definitely did!

Belly Up Cat Nap

Suki takes her morning naps usually in this position which my dad calls "playing corpse". It is really hot where we live and we do not have a good air conditioner - so I think this is the best way she can keep cool while she snoozes. Is this a normal pose for a cat or does she have a super flexible spine?

Can't wait for winter to come back so I can get her some new cozy little cat beds! Any recommendations?

Copy Cat

Lately I've been finding Suki in the morning either next to or on top of a cheap cat rug I got recently. I didn't place her in this photo - totally natural pose.
